Night at the Chisholm Trail Museum

As the sky darkened and Wellington residents were settling in for the night Saturday, members of the Wichita Paranormal Research Society started work at the Chisholm Trail Museum readying themselves for a night of spirit searching. The group was drawn to the museum for it's nearly 100 years of history – not only the building itself, but also for the articles inside it.“It's got such interesting history that we decided to investigate and see if we find something paranormal there,” said Investigator and Public Relations Manager Sherry Curry. The group investigates every Saturday and focuses on authenticating evidence and documenting the existence of any paranormal activity via audio, video and other electronic means of equipment.President of the Chisholm Trail Museum Board of Directors Richard Gilfillan says the building is one of Wellington's treasures and he's not surprised the group took interest. The building was erected in 1916 by Dr. A.R. Hatcher to house the Hatcher Hospital and Clinic. His son, Dr. A.C. Hatcher, also a doctor, joined the staff in 1949 and later took charge of the clinic after his father's retirement. Dr. A.R. Hatcher died at age 75 in 1960. Then four years later, Dr. A.C. Hatcher, only 46, walked into the hospital with chest pains and died. With no one to run the hospital, it eventually closed and became a museum, Gilfillan said. The former hospital is now home to everything from military mementos and uniforms, to old hospital equipment, farming tools and even some prehistoric fossils and mammoth bones.Having spent many hours in the museum taking groups through the history of the County, Gilfillan says he's had children say the place is haunted, though he doesn't quite believe it himself.“I think it's just the mannequins...they are a little creepy,” the former teacher said. Automatic lights also seem to frighten younger visitors as they blame the change on ghosts. This isn't the first time the society has been to Sumner County, however.A trip to the Oxford Mill resulted in some spooky results.“All of a sudden they heard glasses clanging. They had slid and had clanged into each other,” said Curry. A male voice was recorded saying, “Have a seat” when Curry and another investigator walked outside, while she and another were touched on the elbow, Curry said. The group has even visited the old Oxford High School in an attempt to make contact with spirits that have been left behind.“The old high school probably more so than any of them. Nothing happened while we were there but we got a ton of audio back,” she said.Elliott says there is a story of a student who died in a bus accident and on the audio, he says the society picked up a young girl's voice.“We picked up the voice of a little girl and there was nobody in the building with us, not even the employees,” Elliott said. After infrared cameras were placed on every floor of the museum and the members got their personal equipment ready - the hunt was on as the group split into teams.Curry and Bob Gilmer took the third floor, an add-on to the building that was used for operations. Climbing the stairs by the light of their flashlights, the two entered the pitch-black third floor and started work. The pair introduced themselves to any spirits in the room and then started to ask questions and make requests.“We aren't here to hurt you, we just want to communicate,” Curry said. “If you can see me, move towards my green light.” The light on the electro-magnet meter picks up spikes in electro-magnetic currents, which some believe are caused by the paranormal.Lori Dewinkler and Conway Springs native Donna Chaffin first took the basement and then moved to the first floor military room, calmly repeating questions and requests.Board member Brian Ferguson and Gilfillan even got in on the act, with Ferguson going down in the basement with the society members and Gilfillan keeping a watchful eye on the infrared camera feeds.Though the night seemed quiet, the investigators say there was more going on than meets the eye.“It stayed quiet with the exception of three different incidents on the second and third floor. We had one person at the end of the hall and you would hear footsteps at the other end of the hall and there was nobody down there,” Elliott said. “I was there one time and heard it myself. It definitely sounded like somebody was walking around at the end of the hallway and there was nobody around.”That's not the only thing the investigators found. While discussions were taking place in the basement, digital audio recorders were able to pick up sounds the society members couldn't hear.“They were just talking and weren't really asking questions and you hear a voice in the background say, 'It's all right,'” Elliott said. Another incident occurred under similar circumstances, the investigator said, this time with whispers holding a conversation in the background.Elliott says it's more common to pick up voices on the recorders than to pick up visuals on still or video camera.“It happens all the time,” he said. The museum seems to be one of the more active spirit centers in the County.“It looks like it's pretty on par with the Oxford Mill,” Elliott said. “Regardless, it doesn't seem to care what anyone's doing, it just does it's own thing,” he said of the spirit caught on the recorder.More results may come in later as more members of the team go over their audio findings, Elliott said.Though not a believer himself, Gilfillan says he hopes more people will visit as a result of the ghost hunt.“Maybe this will bring some attention to the museum. A handful of us work down there for nothing and it's strictly to help and promote the town so anything that brings attention to it is welcome,” he said.

Video: Triangle UFO Captured Over Moscow, Russia - 4/25/09

As more Russians purchase mobile telephones and consequently more people carry photographic and filming devices greater numbers of images of the mysterious craft or UFOs that have been seen in Russian skies for decades are brought to the worlds attention. This craft was filmed above Moscow on 25 April of this year by one mobile phone user. This UFO footage is creating a stir on Russian conspiracy websites and forum participants are split between thinking it is an alien craft, a secret government project or a private experimental plane. All agree that it is too large to be a kite and the consensus leans towards a military craft.

Large Spiders Invade Costal Queensland, Australia

In a scene that could almost be out of a B-grade monster movie, giant spiders have invaded Bowen. For about six weeks, residents have reported seeing huge bird-eating spiders crawling around their backyards and gardens.Amalgamated Pest Control Bowen pest technician Audy Geiszler took this incredible photo of one of the spiders he caught wandering across the garden of a restaurant near the town's centre.Mr Geiszler estimated its body alone was 5cm long, a specimen declared `especially large' by the Queensland Museum. Most grow to be the size of a man's hand."It was found in a public area, just wandering around the garden areas. It's a bit scary for the people," Mr Geiszler said. While at this stage there had only been about five sightings of the giant spiders, Mr Geiszler said it was unusual to see that many in such a short period."Normally they live in and around gardens and that type of thing," he said."They are very shy. They normally never venture out too far but obviously these ones have been flushed out for some reason."It's more than enough to scare a few people. It's not plague proportions or anything."That in itself is unusual because you don't normally see these species out in the open."Queensland Museum spider expert Dr Robert Raven identified the arachnid in Mr Geiszler's photograph as the eastern tarantula, which is also known as the whistling spider (Phlogius crassipes) _ the largest spider in Australia. The spiders whistle or make a hissing sound when aggravated, which can be heard about 2m away.Dr Raven said the spider, an especially large individual, was also a male."The females remain in their burrows. Because of the nice rain that you've had, you've got plenty of food about with plenty of warmth," he said."The spiders have been getting fed and now they're out walking about looking for females to mate with."Whistling spiders, which are found throughout North Queensland, are burrowing arachnids, living underground in burrows which can be up to 1m deep. The spiders have been known to eat small birds, however Dr Raven believed it would have been stocking up on insects, small mammals and amphibians."They'll go for big insects. They probably feed on toads. They have no problem with cane toads and frogs _ anything big and slow-moving that comes their way."The bite from a bird-eating spider is not known to be fatal to humans, however it can cause up to six hours of vomiting. The spider's venom does, however, kill dogs and cats with death occurring within 30 minutes.Dr Raven believed the spiders would soon return to their burrows."It's a little bit late in the season for them by my reckoning, which is probably just saying you've had plenty of rain and they've been locked up inside waterwells or something in the meantime and they're just getting loose," he said.

Pentagon Ordered Sen. Barry Goldwater NOT To Inquire About UFOs and Aliens

The date of July 16, 1969 was the day of the launch of Apollo 11 and the initial kick-off for the first landing of the human race on our neighbour, the moon. The global importance of this major historic event was very evident at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida. It was Moon Shot Day! Many famous people from all over the world gathered in the VIP launch viewing area near the Apollo LCC (Launch Control Center). The security was at its highest level with VIP guests present from every nation on earth. One guest was in attendance whom I had supported during his political career, Senator Barry M. Goldwater of Arizona. He had been the Republican Presidential candidate in 1964 running against President Lyndon B. Johnson. He had lost by a wide margin, but, we in Florida had delivered him a victory in Brevard County, Florida and the Space Port area and pride in ourselves regarding that minor accomplishment. In 1968, Goldwater won back his Senatorial seat in Arizona.Senator Barry M. Goldwater was a former Major General in the United States Army Air Corp wanting to be a fighter pilot of a P-47 Thunderbolt and/or a P-51 Mustang aircraft, but was assigned to deliver various aircraft to combat areas. He had flown an estimated 160 plus other planes during his WW II and civilian years. I was also informed that he had been checked-out in an SR-71 Blackbird. That was VERY impressive to learn.Being a registered Democrat supporting a Republican candidate in Florida did not gain me any favour through my lifelong political party in Florida. I constantly lived with insults and jokes which supplemented my involvement in UFO research. McCleland has always been a maverick.During the long countdown of the Saturn V Apollo 11 launch vehicle, I took a breakfast break from the LCC and walked to the nearby VIP guest viewing site in hopes of meeting Senator Goldwater. As I scanned the numerous people gathered, I asked one of our security guards if he was aware of the location of Goldwater? He pointed his finger to an open field nearby saying "Do you see that guy over there setting up his camera tripod, Mac? That's Senator Goldwater".I had my camera around my neck in hopes of having a photo opportunity with the Senator. I strolled across the crab grass turf as he was setting up his personal camera.I was surprised he was alone except for a half dozen other guests that were nearby also setting up their cameras. I introduced myself and he responded with a polite greeting. He asked if I was a guest in the VIP area. I chuckled a bit and said, no sir, I am not yet a VIP. He smiled, and said, yes, I know how you feel.I had the same experience in the past. We talked about his earlier effort to gain the Presidency and I told him about my personal efforts in Brevard County. He thanked me saying at least he had won here in the Cape area.I seriously pondered my next question concerning UFOs and finally asked him if he would discuss the subject with me? I was surprised he had no Secret Service Agents or NASA Public Affairs personnel hovering around him. I explained my position at KSC and my being the NICAP Unit-3 Director for Major Donald E. Keyhoe at KSC. He had met Keyhoe in DC years before. He approved our discussion on the UFO subject and we began our exchange of information.I began by saying it was obvious he had a deep abiding interest in UFOs and possible visits of alien races to earth. He said, "That is accepted fact in Washington and especially at the Pentagon, young man." I had some understanding of his alleged statements regarding UFOs in the past and brought up the popular story of his effort to gain entry into a special storage area at Wright-Patterson AFB that purportedly had alien artifacts in it. He said, "Yes, that's the main event concerning me and UFOs."I was under the impression that a U.S. Senator with a past as a Major General in the U.S. Army Air Corp and a member of the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence for many years would carry some weight in my allowances to enter such an area of military secrecy. I was rudely awakened to reality very swiftly when I was denied passage. It had me angry enough to discuss it with a personal friend of mine in the military and inquired why my position in the U.S. Senate had no such allowance? My friend, General Curtis LeMay, Chairman of the Military Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon VERY angrily told me that I had no need to know. He gave me a lot of HELL about my activities at Wright-Patterson.He threatened to end our friendship for life! My God, Mac, that surprised the hell out of me." LeMay added, "you stay clear of our mutual friend, "Butch", too. ( meaning General William "Butch" Blanchard) his having been at Roswell (later Walker) Army Air base and the 509Th., will not gain you any favour for knowledge of that Roswell crash claim."Goldwater said, "Mac, Butch Blanchard was also a very valued friend of mine since WWII." He was the person who announced that a disc had crashed near Roswell in 1947. This cussing out did awaken me to one fact, that the UFO situation is the highest level of national secrecy. Much higher than the H-Bomb was and more than anything else that is known within the Pentagon, FBI, CIA, DIA, NSA, etc. That is, nothing is higher security than aliens being here on this planet. Then I realized Curtis was correct. And I never again approached him on the subject. That seemed to prove to me that UFOs were a fact, and do exist. But, are they all aliens? I highly suspect a majority are!Clark C. McClelland, former ScO, Space Shuttle Fleet, KSC, Florida 1958 to 1992. Former Director, NICAP Unit-3 at Cape Canaveral and KSC, former MUFON Assistant Florida State Director, and former Director, Kennedy Space Center MUFON Unit, KSC.
Strange Illness Reported In Nicaragua

As if swine flu weren't enough to worry about, reports have been coming out of Nicaragua of another illness spreading. Referred to by locals as grisi siknis—which translated from the indigenous Miskito language means "crazy sickness"—it has been causing mass hysteria among the population lately and has the Nicaraguan authorities at a loss for answers. No one understands what causes the illness or why it has returned to the small northern port town of Bilwi on Nicaragua's northern Caribbean coast, but 80 cases have been reported in the last 2 months alone and the outbreak has local residents on edge. The illness seems to only spread among the indigenous population and has primarily affected young adolescent Miskito women. The first reported cases of the sickness can be traced back to the 1800's, but the cause has left Western doctor's mystified. Professor Pablo McDavis has been researching grisi siknis in the Indigenous Diseases Department at Uraccan University for the last few years. "We have taken samples of blood from patients while suffering an attack and, in a lab, we can't detect anything," McDavis explained to the BBC. "Drugs or injections tend to only increase a patient's aggressiveness. Clinically we can't detect anything," he continued, "It is like an outbreak. If an attack is not contained quickly, it can spread throughout an entire community."Some experts say the illness is mental and not physical but the Miskito population believes it to be tied to supernatural forces and demons that inhabit the earth. "There is more devil than God in the city right now," said Rev. Kenneth Bushey, of the Moravian Renovation Evangelical Church, where seven women took ill with grisi siknis during a youth group event last month. "God is testing our faith.''Meanwhile, business for witch doctors and faith healers has been booming. Doña Porcela, a respected traditional healer, has been traveling the area, offering respite to those affected, "Grisi Siknis turns people into witches and they go crazy," she says, but she can cure people with a special concotion she has created. "It can be drunk or bathed in," Porcela explains, "Within three or four days, they are normal again."
Massive Circular Radar Image Raises Questions in Switzerland

On the morning of Friday the 24th of April of this year employees at MeteoSwiss (Switzerland’s meteorological department) got the surprise of their lives. Huge circular fields hovering over Switzerland were picked up by their radars (picture above). The blue coloured circles covered the entire country. The question was asked as to whether a massive UFO was in the upper-atmosphere above the scenic mountainous nation or perhaps these circles were signs of an imminent hurricane.Felix Schacher, a senior Meteorologist at MeteoSwiss claimed the circles were not UFOs or the signs of a hurricane about to wreak havoc on his country. Mr Schacher told the Swiss news site ’20 Minutes’ that they were merely caused by the reflection of water droplets. A few minutes after being queried on the issue the radar images were hurriedly removed from the departments website. Are we being told everything the Swiss meteorological knows about these radar images? Many Swiss UFO researchers have left comments on various internet forums expressing their doubt about that.

Paramedic Recalls His Experience at Haunted Connecticut House

'I wanted out as quickly as I could,' former paramedic says of 'Haunting in Connecticut' homeFor the record, Joe Krupa is not the superstitious type. A Delaware County sheriff’s deputy, the former Star Press photographer has spent much of his life as a public-safety worker, including time as a volunteer firefighter and paramedic back in his home state of Connecticut.Nor is he particularly religious. So when you talk to him about the recent horror movie The Haunting in Connecticut, a film featuring demon-possession, but also one that’s billed as being based on “a true story,” you expect a doubtful reaction from a man who would never compromise his credibility.Which you get, mostly. Still, there was something about that house…“I just know that when I was in that house, I wanted out as quickly as I could,” recalled Krupa, whose ambulance, back in 1986, was dispatched to the Southington, Conn., dwelling upon which the 2009 movie and a 2002 television documentary were based. What’s more, he and his partner were sent there to take a 15-year-old boy, the very kid whose possession is the basis of the film and the broadcast, to a psychiatric hospital.Though that was years ago, Krupa’s memories of the day remain clear. After all, he had grown up near the house, which he had known as a funeral home, so he was surprised to find himself sent to what was now just a rental property, especially for that unusual assignment.Stepping inside, the surprise continued. “It was just strange,” he recalled. “Things just seemed out of place.”As you might guess, the experience as he lived it was not the same as that portrayed in the film, or even the television documentary. The ambulance run came in the middle of the day, for example, and not in the middle of your standard “dark and stormy night.”What’s more, the teenager didn’t fit our common notions of demon possession, at least not as detailed in that classic horror flick, The Exorcist.“He wasn’t violent or belligerent,” the deputy recalled. “He just didn’t want to go.”Once the kid was in the ambulance, however, Krupa read the comments a doctor had noted on a medical chart. The youngster had heard noises in the house. Voices, too. And unseen forces had assaulted him. While the boy was the main target of this activity, however, the rest of the family had reportedly experienced it, too. Krupa recalled wondering, was this kid really nuts? Or were the parents blaming the kid for what had happened?“We weren’t getting a clear story,” he said.About a year later, Krupa was surprised to read a National Enquirer story regarding the house, the family and the haunting. That paper’s reputation for lurid reporting notwithstanding, it was mostly a low-key, factual piece.Furthermore, Krupa learned that two well-known ghost hunters - Edward and Lorraine Warren, who had earlier played a key role in examining the house featured in the book and movie The Amityville Horror - were also called to this one.At one point, Krupa added, a priest performed an exorcism there and, during the process, a tree on the property toppled onto some electrical lines, cutting off power to downtown. He experienced the power failure, and was surprised when a buddy explained what had caused it.“I said, ‘You’re kidding,’” he recalled, laughing.Looking back on the experience now, what does he think?“I dunno,” he said. “I think it’s interesting. Somebody’s making some good money here.”He added that, while the television documentary played it loose with some facts, he figures the movie does so to a far greater degree. “I assume it’s way over the top,” he said.Still, despite that, he knows how he felt when he was inside that house. Not scared, exactly.“I was on edge, I’d say,” Krupa noted. “It wasn’t a rational kind of thing. Maybe a sense of danger. “Call it a sixth sense.“There are things we can’t explain,” he said.
The Haunted Morgue - Old Royal Naval College, London

'I can clearly sense an anxious female presence, perhaps a nurse, who's quite territorial about this end of the room,' says David Wells. The notorious medium and qabalist ('that's qabalist with a q, not a k,' he insists) is leading us through a 17th century morgue pointing out its spectral inhabitants like so many oil paintings. We're beneath the Old Royal Naval College, Wren's Greenwich masterpiece, for the opening night of London Ghost Week. And if David and fellow medium Andrew are to be believed, we're not alone. 'Over there, in the corner, there's a character in a funny hat, with a sword. A bit like a pirate,' reckons Andrew. The whole time, we're watched over by the shade of a young man with 'special needs'.The venue is super creepy, even to hardened skeptics like ourselves. We're in a crypt-like environment where dead pensioners were stored prior to burial. Marks are visible on the sills where coroners would sharpen knives. A Victorian bowling alley runs along one side of the room, drenched in stories of phantom bowlers and skittle pickers. Beside it sits the table upon which Nelson's body once rested. It is an auspicious place to hunt ghosts.David had prepared our minds with a psychic pep talk. We've learned how to 'open our chakras' and make contact with 'astrals'. We've been tutored in the ways of dowsing, crystal pendulum reading and glass moving. And we've been guided round the haunted spots of Greenwich by a former naval chap who once lived in the College. Alas, when the time comes to hunt our own ghosts, nobody except the mediums actually sees anything, and the only noise is a vague tapping that could be anything.Still, nobody was disappointed. Believers in such things got to hone their psychic skills with tips from a master practitioner. The skeptics in the crowd were hugely entertained by the unusual venue and activities, even if the underlying premise is built on mumbo jumbo. And the many spectres of the Naval College got some sympathetic company for an evening.London Ghost Week (organised by Fright Nights) still has plenty of days to run, so if you want to meddle with the supernatural, check out their site. In particular, we'd recommend the London’s Best Medium face-off and ghost hunts at the Canal Museum and Ragged School.
Photos - Multi-Colored Lights Over North Carolina - 3/5/09

Report from witness: On March 5, 2009 at approx. 6:45 am est. on the way down the side walk going to the vehicle, a bright object captured our attention. The object was moving erratically in the sky and was slightly larger than the planet Venus just after dark or just before dawn. It was about 25 to 30 degrees in the morning sky about 6 to 10 miles away and we were facing south. The digital camera we used was hand held and not on a bipod as we were not expecting to capture anything that morning. The weather was clear, no cloud cover, no rain, perfect and cool. The object, as stated earlier, moved erratically for a short time then stopped and hovered for about 5 minutes. The photo numbered 705 is the picture of the object just hovering. Once stopped we could tell that it was shaped circular like a doughnut with lights of every color around the outside of the craft with a solid center. After hovering for 5 minutes or so the object took off moving north relatively fast making no sound what so ever.My son and I saw the object and even though we have been looking for it every morning since we have not seen the object again. I do realize that a lot of people try to hoax the public and are out for their 15 minutes of fame. This is not the case as we want no media what so ever. Just simply an answer for what we have seen in the sky over our home would suffice. We understand that may not be possible but just knowing somewhere someone has seen something similar would help.We are not nut cases claiming abduction and honestly we have reservations about the people who do. My son is a 12 yr old 7th grader and i am a building sub-contractor.

Bigfoot Lives Quietly in Decatur, Arkansas...Even Has a Daily Cup of Coffee at Diner

In October 2003, the small town of Decatur on the western side of Benton County found itself with a new resident. Normally, a new neighbor would not cause any kind of stir. After all, people pack up and move every day, but this time things were different.Although a little shy, the new neighbor soon brought news crews and myth debunkers from all around into the tiny town as the local gossip began to circulate about just what the new guy looked like.It did not take everyone long to realize that the new neighbor who had moved into the woods around Crystal Lake was, indeed, Bigfoot.“We had some pretty interesting calls on it,” Decatur Chief of Police Terry Luker said. “I had one lady call me and I tried to explain to her that it was not a Bigfoot and that it was too small to be a Bigfoot.“The lady stopped me and she said, ‘Well, you know, they have babies, too.’’’ Every day she hears someone in the restaurant telling their own Bigfoot story.“He stays right out there,” Mickey Metz of Gentry said as he pointed into the woods across Crystal Lake. “Some people still say they can hear him way out over there, but we never see him and I do not stay out after dark.”Paul Austin of Decatur says he remembers the excitement the town went through when Bigfoot was first seen in 2003, but after about a week he did not hear any more about the new neighbor.“I am not a believer,” Austin added.Kim Strobel of Gravette, however, is a believer and with good reason.“I believe in him. I have heard him,” Strobel said. While working on a wild-game reserve in Winston, Ore., Strobel and a group of his coworkers heard Bigfoot’s howl. When Bigfoot entered the reserve, all of the animals - the lions, the tigers, the monkeys - began howling and hissing and getting extremely nervous in their cages. The official stance on Decatur’s Bigfoot sightings in 2003 is that the monkey-like creature people were getting fleeting glances of around town was actually a baboon that had escaped from the local wilderness safari in nearby Gentry. The first spotting of Bigfoot was on Hill Street, and it was not long before the police department was getting calls from citizens who had seen Bigfoot on the west side of Decatur, Luker said.“It was a lot of fun. I have not heard of any sightings lately,” Luker said.“He is still around. He still comes in for coffee in the morning,” Denise Trammell, owner of the Gallery Café in downtown Decatur, said.“He is a little shy, so sometimes he has to come in before we actually open,” Trammell said, noting the café has a deal with Bigfoot to not take photographs of the being that is surrounded with mystery.“He has a family now. He is a pretty nice guy,” Trammell said, noting that he heard what he believes was Bigfoot letting out a sound that he is not likely to ever forget, he said.“It was a quiet night. You could hear the grasshoppers chirping and then you could hear just a strange howl and all of the lions started roaring and the monkeys started going crazy,” Strobel said. “The next day we went out looking for him, and never could find anything. But being around animals all my life, I can tell you that sound was like nothing else.”The mystery of whether or not Bigfoot really exists lives on in Strobel’s mind.“I have been in quite a few places and you always hear about these stories, but none of us know what all God has created,” Strobel said. “I can not say it was Bigfoot. I can not say it was not. Two-thirds of the rumors out there are usually true, though.”
UFO / Train Collision - Paintsville, KY - 1/14/02 - Update

Original statement by witness: Paintsville, Kentucky -- At exactly 2:47 a.m. on January 14, 2002, while working a coal train enroute from Russell, Kentucky to Shelbiana, Kentucky, our trailing unit and first two cars were severely damaged as we struck an unknown floating or hovering object. I know it was 2:47 because my watch froze, and to this day shows that time.Along with my watch the entire electrical systems on both locomotives went haywire. Approaching a bend near milepost 42 in an area referred to as the Wild Kingdom, for the many different types of animals spotted there, my conductor and I saw lights coming from around the way. This ordinarily means another train is coming and will pass on the other track. The outlay of the area is this, the river, #1 track, #2 tracks and a straight up mountainside, carved out for the laying of these tracks. I killed our lights as not to blind the oncoming crew.As we rounded the corner our onboard computer began to flash in and out, speed recorder went nuts, and both locomotives died. Alarm bells began to ring and that’s when we saw the objects. Apparently scanning the river for something. At least three objects had several "search" lights trained there, the first object hovered about 10 to 12 feet above the track. It was metallic silver in color with multiple colored lights near the bottom and in the middle. There were no windows or openings of any kind that we could see. It was 18 to 20 feet in length and probably ten feet high. With both engines dead as we rounded the corner we made little noise and the first object did not respond in time, I estimate that we hit the object at 30 mph with 16,000 trailing tons behind us. It clipped the top of our lead unit then skipped back slicing a chunk out of our trailing unit and first two coal cars. The other objects vanished. Our emergency brakes had initiated due to the loss of power and we stopped approximately a mile and a half to two miles after impact. Our power restored after we were stopped and we notified our dispatcher, located in Jacksonville, Florida of what had happened. We were told to inspect the cars to see if they'd hold the rail and try to limp into milepost cmg 60 which used to be the Paintsville yard which is no longer in full operation. We checked everything out and the cab of the rear locomotive was demolished and smoking, the second two cars looked as if they had been hit with a giant hammer, but looked like they'd hold the rail.We pulled into Paintsville yard at approximately 5:15 am. The huge overhead lights lining the yard were noticeably dark and the only lights came from what we assumed were railroad officials vehicles parked near the end of the track. We pulled to a stop and began unloading our grips off the wounded train. We could hear what sounded like an army of workers immediately tending to our train.Vehicle doors slamming, guys running by in weird outfits and lights glaring from all directions, the one thing missing was railroad officials.A guy named Ferguson shook my hand and asked me to follow him into the old yard office. We did, once inside they, and by they I mean I have no idea who these people were, began to ask us hundreds of questions, they then told us for our own protection we'd be medically tested before we could leave.I asked repeatedly to talk to my road foreman or trainmaster and not only were these requests denied but they confiscated my conductor’s cellular phone.Hours later we were led outside the old yard office and the strange things continued to happen, the 2 locomotives and two cars were removed from the rest of the train we had brought in and my only guess was parked 4 tracks over under a huge tent like structure buzzing with activity. We were led off the property and told, due to national security, our silence on this matter would be appreciated. We were then put in a railroad vehicle and taken to Martin, Kentucky were we went through questioning again with railroad officials and were then drug tested. After all of this we were sent on to Shelbiana, where we took rest for 8 hours and worked another train back to Russell. Working back we passed by Paintsville, no sign of the engines, cars, tent, people, nothing.UPDATE - this interesting account is from a nearby resident:I live near Paintsville, actually in an rural community 9 miles North of the town. I'm pretty well tied in to the community and monitor EMS/Police/Fire frequently. Our local Ham club works with and has members from local EM agencies and I just heard about this incident today. The railroads around here (CSX) pretty much take care of their own business. Very little is ever mentioned of a railway incident. If someone is hit and killed on the tracks, there may be a mention on the local news but that's about it. Our local news does not really seek the story. If you call with a story, they might print it but no in depth reporting. My supervisor knows more than I do about the goings on in town and he had not heard of this either. It is possible for this to have happened and have been kept quiet, especially if it happened between two towns like Russell and Paintsville. There is a lot of the river bank that is not visible to the public through this area. I happen to know a gentleman who works for them as a safety engineer. I will try and contact the individual and ask him about this. We spoke last year so I think if he knew about it, he would have told me.NOTE: the original statement seems credible and the newer information is understandable. My father has ties to the railroad industry and confirms that their security is very tight overall. If anyone has additional information on this incident, I would love to see it.

Reagan and Gorbachev Agreed to Fight UFOs

Charlie Rose had the former president of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev and President Reagan’s Secretary of State George Shultz on his program this past Tuesday night. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.Gorbachev got a laugh when he said he wasn’t all that impressed with Reagan’s historic challenge to “tear down this wall”. But went on to say that he believed Reagan “was a great president.”Shultz was talking about the Lake Geneva summit and mentioned the two leaders ducked out of a meeting to take a walk to a nearby cabin.“I wasn’t there…,” Shultz said before Gorbachev cut him off.“From the fireside house, President Reagan suddenly said to me, ‘What would you do if the United States were suddenly attacked by someone from outer space? Would you help us?’“I said, ‘No doubt about it.’”“He said, ‘We too.’”“So that’s interesting,” Gorbachev said to much laughter. He then said to Shultz, “I’m sorry for having interrupted you, but it was an interesting moment.”Rose concurred.

Dear Dave,
I for one understand well, and know this , i do care and appreciate the work you do, and id like to tell you the first incident that peaked my belief in UFOs .
In Sept of 94 i had just taken delivery of my dream car .. a 6 speed Z28 Camaro one of the first 5 ever made .. and was on I-10 about 150 miles west of Phoenix when my now ex wife and I saw 2 aircraft just sitting in one spot over the highway .. not moving .. and we thought they were military helicopters, so thought nothing of it, but as we got closer we started to see the silhouettes and they were saucers, and werent moving, and only had 3 small lights showing on them, and when we realized what they were i floored it .. top speed on my car was 165 and we hit it .. and there were no other cars at all around it was like 2 am .. .. we passed under them both and got a serious good look as they were only approx 200 ft off the ground and when we passed under them they started to follow us and matched us in speed but stayed just behind us at the same altitude all the way to within 15 miles of Phoenix .. where they both went straight up and did a 45 dg turn and shot away according to my wife .. because at the time i was concentrating on driving and my hair was on end .. and we had the T tops off the car so we got a dammn good look at them .. and we checked the next day and found that others had seen them too and at least one trucker confirmed he saw them chasing us .. i never saw him i was haulin ass but apparently he was heading west as we were screaming east , and said i went by so fast he couldn't tell what kinda car i was in he thought it was a corvette .. after dropping his trailer and heading back to the restaurant we had stopped at he had overheard me and my wife talking about it to a couple others in the restauraunt and then told what he had seen .. from then on i believed ..and finally believed my dads stories about P-51s chasing them over lake Elsinore in 1945 and dogfighting with them .. i think i told you about once .. and since then i have had sightings at least 4 times now .. and being a trained pilot and aircraft spotter, i know what is and isnt from this planet unless we have out own secret fleet of them now and i would not be surprised since they have captured so many wrecks, and after the Needles incident .. i have 3 friends who live right under where they flew the thing out from and a friend who lives on a houseboat on the river who has disappeared since he told me and others what he saw .. so yeah they are all too real. Im going to Sedona this summer aqnd takin my camera who knows what i will see there. But please dont give up keep lookin and talking because one day one of us will get the evidence we need to blow the cover off it all .. I have no idea why they thing everyone would be scared to death if they knew, and a friend of mine whos ex AF intel who told me some things said the Grays are spooky .. they have no feelings or ethics and dont care about anything but knowledge about us and told me there are at least 15 other known races out there.
If you ever want another set of eyes and ears on a UFO safari come get me ill go ..
Take care and get better,
Sincerely ,
John Atkinson
